In order to obtain the most positive patient outcomes possible and reduce hospitalizations, while maintaining quality of life, patient compliance with prescribed regimens for CHF is a crucial factor. This examination of literature examines the topic of CHF patient compliance as it applies to the practice and role of the family nurse practitioner, using Orem’s Self-Care Deficit theory.
